Mattress Delivery, A Necessity

Have you ever seen someone driving down the street with a huge item strapped to the roof of their car? An enormous, heavy, flexible mattress, perhaps? It’s quite a site, and one that most of us would not like to replicate on our own. Fortunately, most companies offer mattress delivery so this isn’t a problem.

If you’ve ever had to rotate your mattress (as you most certainly have) you are aware that they are very heavy and cumbersome. They are also rather floppy, meaning that this great weight and massive object is extremely difficult to maneuver. Rotating it is one thing, but getting it from a store into your home and onto your bed frame is a million times more difficult!

When you purchase a new mattress, unless you happen to have a large truck, you will definitely want to have that mattress delivered to your home. Professionals will have more experience in carrying it around and you can avoid bringing the dirt of the traffic into your home (and then sleeping on it).

Whether you are purchasing your mattress online or in a store, you definitely need to find out about the delivery policy before you buy. You don’t want to start out with your purchase with the frustration of additional fees or, worse yet, finding out that you have to do the transporting on your own.

As previously stated, most companies have a delivery policy. Sometimes they charge a very high fee for delivery of your mattress, which could be a hundred dollars or more.

Many times companies have promotions or specials and offer free delivery. This is a major bonus and should be taken advantage of. This may even allow you to consider upgrading to a better mattress with the money you will save on delivery.

Also, before you have your mattress delivered, find out about the return policy. Make certain that you can unwrap the mattress before the delivery people leave and ascertain that your mattress has no defects. You don’t want to use the delivery service if it means that you can’t see the mattress before you accept it, as you would if you were bringing it home yourself.

With a mattress delivery you save yourself the headache of finding transportation and someone to help you move the mattress, getting it to and from the vehicle and into your home. This is just the type of job best left to the professionals!

Once you have had your mattress delivered you need only make your bed and lie on it. And you can do it without having thrown your back out to get it there. If you are planning to transport your mattress yourself you might as well make sure it’s a memory foam or other spine aligning one to help fix your back after the strain of moving it!
